Experiencing Life-changing Care

Coeur d'Alene chiropractor Dr. Dan O'Neill

Dr. Dan O’Neill

Are you familiar with alternative health care? Many people aren’t, and I was among them until a serious car accident changed the course of my life. A neighbor suggested that I see a chiropractor who practiced Applied Kinesiology (AK). The treatment made all the difference in restoring my health and left me intrigued by the process.

A naval aviator at the time, I couldn’t help but think about pursuing a career in alternative health care. After leaving my military career as a rescue helicopter pilot in Viet Nam, I worked in the logging industry for a short time before enrolling at Western States Chiropractic College (now the University of Western States) in Portland, Oregon. My interest in Applied Kinesiology grew when I was fortunate enough to intern in the office of an instructor from Portland’s National College of Natural Medicine, a pioneer in the field of AK.

Working directly for a master in the field was truly an honor and a privilege. And, with his active encouragement, I continued my pursuit of a career in alternative health care, focusing on Applied Kinesiology and other alternative approaches to health recovery. I am as passionate today as I was then about the ability of leading edge technologies to restore patient health.

Helping His Wife Regain Her Health

Meet Dr. Dan O'Neill of Coeur d'Alene Wellness in Coeur d'Alene

Dr. Dan O’Neill and his wife, Katrina

Shortly after graduation my wife, Katrina, and I left Portland to begin the next chapter of our lives in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. It wasn’t long before Katrina’s health began to deteriorate, taking us on a decades-long journey to discover the cause of her mysterious and debilitating symptoms.

Katrina suffered from chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, food allergies and chemical sensitivities. She could eat only a handful of foods and became incredibly ill with the slightest exposure to everyday chemicals. She traveled with a respirator, medical grade oxygen and an EpiPen® at all times, never knowing when she would fall seriously ill.

I made it my mission to discover the root causes to Katrina’s illness and help her regain her health. The naturopathic element of my training and research was brought to the forefront. I attended a seminar on Neuromodulation Technique (NMT) that would prove to be pivotal to Katrina’s recovery.

Soon after beginning treatment with NMT, Katrina was able to eat a more normal diet and saw her chemical sensitivities resolved. Many other symptoms also seemed to respond to the treatment but were not eliminated, so I continued to search for additional ways to improve my beloved wife’s health.

After nearly 30 years of ill health for Katrina, and years of exhaustive research, we had our answer. Katrina suffered from Lyme disease. Happily, Katrina is now Lyme-free, having regained her health and her life!

Providing Natural Help for Lyme Disease

Over the years, we have served many patients in North Idaho with similar symptoms. We are treating those who test positive for Lyme with energetic testing and technologies, and are seeing incredible results. Those patients who have been exposed to Lyme more recently do seem to respond more quickly. Some patients never exhibit symptoms at all, even years after exposure and some have symptoms that develop very quickly following initial infection.

We would like to help you find the same relief I was able to provide Katrina. If you suspect you might have Lyme, please complete our assessment and schedule an appointment today with Coeur d’Alene Wellness. It is possible to live life fully again!

Staying Active Outside the Office

Now, that she’s regained her health, Katrina and I love staying active outdoors in our beautiful state. We enjoy kayaking, hiking, camping and bicycling. We especially enjoy biking the Rails to Trails system, including the Route of the Hiawatha.

You might find us dining at Bistro on Spruce, Moon Time or Toro Viejo as well.

I am a member of the Idaho Association of Chiropractic Physicians and formerly served on its Board. I also served as a board member of the Idaho Association of Naturopathic Physicians for 14 years, and am a former Associate member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP).
